Deskripsi

This book highlights the importance of mental and spiritual well-being in the workplace, especially within the hospitality and tourism indus - try. In today’s competitive global market, organizational success can - not be measured solely by financial performance. Instead, it must also consider human values such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. These qualities are seen not as management techniques, but as essential aspects of a healthy and meaningful work environment.

Part I of the book focuses on the Spirituality of Work. It addresses the modern mental health crisis, linking it to boring and meaningless jobs. The tourism industry is used as a case study, being the largest global employer.

Part II explores the theme of Spirituality and Happiness. It discusses how spirituality has evolved beyond religious institutions and now in - cludes secular and even atheistic perspectives.

Part III develops a specific Spirituality for Hospitality Professionals. It traces the roots of hospitality from its religious origins to its modern, commercialized form. The book emphasizes the idea of hospitality as “emotion work,” distinct from knowledge-based labor.

Ultimately, the book aims not only for commercial relevance but for a deeper purpose: to enhance the mental and spiritual health of those who serve—and those who are served—in work.
